Roblox Guides
Roblox trading chats are packed with short terms and trading slang. This glossary explains the most common terms in simple language, so you can understand the numbers, offers, and trade decisions used across this site.
Value and Demand
Value – A community-based estimate of how much an item is worth in trades. It is based on typical trading activity for that game and is not an official Roblox price.
Demand – Shows how strongly traders want an item at a given time. High-demand items can trade at or above their listed value, while low-demand items may trade for less. Comparing demand with value is an important part of evaluating trades. Learn more in Demand vs Value.
RAP – Short for Recent Average Price. It is the rolling average selling price of a Roblox Limited item and is commonly used as a reference for the market price of catalog collectibles.
Grading a Trade
W/L – Short for Win/Loss. Traders use it to describe whether a trade was favorable. A Win means you received more value than you gave, while a Loss means you gave more than you received. When both sides are close in value, the trade is considered Fair. See What Is a Fair Trade for more details.
Overpay – Offering more than an item’s listed value, usually because the item has strong demand or is difficult to obtain through an equal-value trade.
Underpay – Getting an item for less than its listed value. From the buyer’s side, this can be a favorable trade if the item’s actual demand and availability support the lower price.
Lowball – An offer that is significantly below an item’s expected trading value. Lowball offers may be made in the hope that the owner does not know the item’s current worth. Checking a reliable value list can help you spot these offers.
Trade Types and Trading Moves
Clean Trade — A basic one-for-one exchange where both players trade a single item without adding anything extra.
Add-On — An additional item included to make up for a small value difference between the main items in a trade.
Upgrade — Trading your current item for one with greater value or demand. You may need to offer a little more to complete the deal.
Downgrade — Trading one valuable item for multiple items with lower individual values but better liquidity. This can give you more options for future trades.
Liquid — An item that is easy to trade because there is strong demand for it. Liquid items can usually be moved quickly without taking a large value loss.
Grail — A highly desirable, top-level item that many traders aim to obtain. Grails are usually found among the most sought-after items on a value list.
Safety Terms
Middleman (MM) — A trusted third party who temporarily holds items when both sides cannot be exchanged through one in-game trade window, such as during a crosstrade. Only use a middleman when needed, and always choose the middleman yourself. See using a middleman safely.
Crosstrade — A trade involving items from two different Roblox games, where one trade window cannot handle both sides of the exchange.
Trust Trade — A trade where one person sends their item first and relies on the other person to send theirs afterward. This is not a safe trading method. The Roblox trade window allows both sides to exchange items without anyone sending first. If someone asks you to send first, consider it a major scam warning.
Item Terms
Limited — An item that is no longer available through normal in-game methods, often because it came from an older event or limited release. Because the supply is restricted, its availability can have a major effect on its trading value.
Neon and Mega — In Adopt Me, four fully grown pets can be combined to create a Neon pet. Combining four Neon pets creates a Mega Neon. That means a Mega requires sixteen of the original pet, and each upgrade can affect its trading value.
Mutation — In Grow a Garden, a mutation is a special modifier applied to a harvested crop that increases its base value. The multiplier can apply across different crops, making the same mutation more valuable when used on a crop that already has a high base value.
